Covenant living operates by spiritual principles. God has provided healing, protection, and victory through Jesus, but we are called to remain in agreement with what He has promised. One of the most important ways we do that is through our confession.
Hebrews tells us to hold fast our confession without wavering because our confidence is not in our circumstances or feelings. It is in God's faithfulness. Biblical confession is much more than speaking positive words. It is agreeing with what God has already said in His Word.
Jesus is called the High Priest of our confession. As we continue speaking His promises, we stay aligned with our covenant. When symptoms or challenges arise, we do not allow them to dictate our words. Instead, we continue declaring the same promises that produced healing and victory in the first place.
Our testimony is also part of this process. Scripture says we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. Sharing what God has done strengthens our own faith and encourages others to trust Him. It reminds us that God is faithful and that His promises continue to work.
Joshua was instructed to keep God's Word in his mouth day and night. Meditation is more than silent reflection. It includes speaking the Word regularly until it becomes established in our hearts. As we continue to fill our hearts with God's promises, the Holy Spirit is able to bring those truths back to our remembrance exactly when we need them.
Our everyday conversation matters. James reminds us that blessing and cursing should not come from the same mouth. The words we speak reveal what is settled in our hearts. When our daily conversation consistently agrees with God's Word, we strengthen our faith and remain focused on His promises instead of our circumstances.
The encouragement this week is simple. Guard your words. Continue speaking God's promises over your life, even when circumstances try to say otherwise. Stay in agreement with His covenant, share His faithfulness with others, and hold fast to your confession. God is faithful, and His Word never fails.
