Last week we started digging into love, because love isn’t just a “nice idea” in the kingdom — it’s the operating system. This week, the focus went even deeper: love affects every part of your life, including the parts people don’t usually connect to love—like your prayer life, your faith results, and even your finances. In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul makes it plain: you can speak in tongues, pray powerful prayers, and even move mountains in faith, but if you’re not walking in love, it won’t produce the way it’s supposed to. Not because God is withholding, but because love is the channel faith flows through. The Word says the love of God has already been shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Ghost (Romans 5:5), so the issue isn’t whether love is “in you”—the issue is whether you’ve put it on (Colossians 3:14), whether you’re choosing to live from it on purpose.
That’s why love becomes your first checkpoint when things aren’t working. If you’re praying—especially praying in tongues—and instead of getting built up you feel drained, worn out, or like nothing is shifting, it may be a signal to examine your love walk. Scripture even warns that relationship dysfunction can hinder prayer effectiveness (1 Peter 3:7). And it doesn’t stop there. Paul says you can give generously, even sacrificially, and still not see the profit God intended if love isn’t the motive and the manner (1 Corinthians 13:3). Love keeps your heart aligned so your sowing is faith-filled, not greedy, not strained, not “me-first,” but rooted in covenant—trusting God to meet your needs while you stay open to being a blessing to others.
And here’s the simple, powerful conclusion: “Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:8). Love doesn’t fade out, doesn’t come to an end, and doesn’t break down under pressure. So if you want a kingdom life that stays steady—faith that keeps working, prayers that stay effective, and giving that actually produces—make love the priority again. Put it on fresh. Let it govern your words, your reactions, your relationships, and your decisions. Because when love is leading, you’re not just trying harder—you’re flowing in the way the kingdom was designed to work.
